Need help please!! personal opinion question?

i need help writing a poem to someone, in your personal opinion which rhyme scheme sounds more smoothe and better---aabb or abab? and if i do do abab should all the lines have the same amount of syllables,to prevent it from sounding choppy? thanks so much for your help

Rhyme and rhythm will decide which way you go.  Must also take into account the "feel" of the poem e.g. humourous, gentle, dark, serious.  Good luck.
