  1. The way I learned spotting is you start in first, and turn to second, then back to first, like doing shene turns except REALLY slow. then you do it double time, and gradually build up the tempo of your song. this way you can get it just right slowly, so that when you start doing it fast, you do it right. (also, just a tip, I find that I always do better on things when I just try my best to get everything right,. rather than focusing on one thing. When you focus on one thing, about spotting, like bringing your head around faster, or focusing on the same point after every turn, it makes it harder to focus on it overall, making you frustrated and your spotting sloppy. I hope this was helpful!

  2. Focus one one thing in the room and try not to ever not be lookign at it. Snapp you head towards it everytime you can't see it. Hope that helped:)

  3. My advice would be just to turn around in circles spotting one point. Sounds stupid but it works. Make sure you maintain correct posture and that your neck and head move together and don't go forwards or back. Once you master that, try spotting with something continuous such as pose turns or shennes/chennes or however you spell it. Once you have built up speed then try pirouettes. Good luck!

  4. It seems like you know the mechanics, and that's what you should be concentrating on. You just have to do it more than 10,000 times before you should concern yourself. Then another 10,000 times if you still having problems. What I'm getting at, is that you just have to practice and practice.

One way of practicing your spotting is to also work on your chanes.  It's a way of working your spotting, and less concern on your pirouettes or fouettes.  When spotting on one spot, don't just spot on a spot - use a sign like EXIT or find or put something where you can read a word. While spotting, you should be able to read the word clearly - this will help you know if you are doing it correctly. If you can't read the word clearly, then you are not whipping your head fast enough and/or you are not holding it as long as you can before whipping it.
