My 3 year old son is potty trained and has been for over a year, but he still pees the bed. I have tried no liquid right before he goes to bed and now I feel like I will probably have to wake up every so often and make him go...what should I do??? Any advice or things that worked for you???

  1. im 13 and every once and a while i wet so don't worry

  2. try a little bit of liquid every night before he goes to bed at night.

  3. My son is almost 4 and still wets at night so we put a diaper on him at night. (pull ups are too expensive and they are the same thing as a diaper) No use beating your head against a wall..when he is ready he will do it. Some kids are heavy sleepers and don't wake up in time. He will eventually.

  4. Boys have a lot harder time learning not to wet the bed than girls. I would try not giving water around 3 to 4 hours before bed. Also, they have special underpants that look like underwear that will help keep the mess down. I would say that you should get him up at around three hours after he is asleep to help him get the idea of getting up to use the bathroom. Just be ready to clean up a mess if you don't get him special underwear or help him get up at night. Good night.

  5. You do need to wake him up at night.  I did that with my son and he now gets up on his own.  Children have to learn that if they have the urge to pee in the middle of the night.  They have to get up.

  6. try no liquids within 2-3 hours before he goes to bed. That's what we do for my daughter. She doesn't get anything after dinner.

  7. 3 is very young, their bladders are very small and still weak.  Some kids will wet the bed even into their teens especially if their bladder isn't strong enough or if they have any sleep disorders preventing them from waking up, but at 3 years old it is perfectly normal to still have bed wetting.  Use the pull-ups for overnight if you have to, the under-jams I was told work great and really aren't noticeable as pull-ups.  Make sure he has nothing to drink 2 hrs before bed and that he pottys right before he lays down.  See if that helps, if not make sure to wake him up after about 2-3 hrs at night to help him train to get up to pee.  My boys are 3 and 6 and still have some accidents at night if they can't just wake-up.  I just happen to notice sometimes they are squirming in their sleep doing a pee pee dance and I wake them up to go potty and then they are fine for the rest of the night.

  8. A lot of children wet the bed at night until they are older. For now just do the night time underpants so there's not a huge mess. Most will outgrow it by the age of five.

  9. my son's 3 and i make him go pee right before he goes to bed and then if i wake up at night with my other child (she's 3 months old) then i go wake him up and make him go pee and then when he wakes up in the morning he goes by himself. he's getting allot better at it. it will just take some time. i didn't cut out any of his drinking and he drinks all the time right up until bedtime. just keep trying. it will just take some time. worst case you could get some of those good-nights or under-jams for him.

  10. Nighttime dryness is NOT a potty training issue - you can't make them wake up dry.  Young children often cannot hold an entire night's worth of pee until morning, and their brain does not yet send them a signal to wake up when they need to go.  You can limit liquids after dinner.  Also you should wake him up just before you go to bed so he can use the bathroom again (this will actually help his body learn to wake up overnight).  And most especially, have LOTS of patience.  It is completely normal for kids to still have nighttime accidents until about 5-6 years old  :)
