Need help putting videos onto my PC. sony handycam?

The camcorder is a: sony handycam mini dv dcr pc110e

Please help! I thought this was going to be easy and the project is in for tommorow! Thanks!

You need a firewire/usb2 card on the PC and appropriate software.

This camera has both USB and firewire so use one of those to upload to the PC. There should be software included with the camera but you can also use windows movie maker.

Using movie maker just connect and power up the camera then open movie maker and select file - import from digital camera.

This will take some time to complete. You can then edit the footage in the movie maker. It's pretty easy to understand and use.

dcr pc110e,  a miniDV vcam, must be FIREWIRE400**-connected to pc to upload video thru video capture or video editing* software while vcam is ON PLAYBACK.  Note: DV or Firewire port of vcam is 4pin. Before cable purchase** (Vcam/4pin=>firewireCABLE=>PC (4/ 6pin?), check DV or firewire port of PC whether 4 or 6 pin. If none, procure firewire card: pci for pc or pcmcia for laptop.

Try Ulead Video Studio 10 or 11 - free trial for one month I think - an intermediate editor may have quality output.

1. Capture video stream** - editing software remotely controls vcam operations

2. Edit- drag/drop video files->timeline & enhance w/effects, transition, music & titles

3. Finish (render)- save Movie file, also save Project* ** file

4. Share-burn to CD (if DvD, use DvD authoring app, e.g.,DvD Flick, Nero, etc.)

For Vista/wmm6, t’is similar: Import/ Edit/ Publish/ WindowsDVD or Nero for authoring. Photo Story 3 provides pan & zoom effects. Download free separately.
