Need help regarding Lean Manufacturing and Supply chain management?

Question

what is Lean Manufacturing and what is Supply Chain Management ?, please also demonstrate the difference between both the philosophies? and if possible please give an example to demonstrate the difference?

Lean Manufacturing or what is called Just In Time ( JIT ) is supplies or manufactured what exactly customers wants and where, without waste, with JIT supplies and components are pulled through the system to arrive where they are needed and when they are needed. by this management can reduce or eliminate waste and unwanted items, but require lot of close coordination with suppliers. JIT was found by the TOYOTA car manufacturing in Japan.

However the Supply Chain Management is all most the same principle of JIT with the exception that the manufacturer get the sub suppliers  take and share responsibilities of their product and installations through the manufacturing line, this was practiced by Volks Wagen in Brazil, and Wal Mart in the US
