Need help regarding dowry?

Ok so im getting married and moving to dubai... dispute various attempts by me and my husband in convincing my parents otherwise , my parents insist on giving me dowry and wedding presents when i move to dubai...

My husband has told my parents that we dont want anything from them, just them giving me is enough, its also going to be expensive to take stuff all the way from Pakistan.

So my question is, how much would stuff cost... like a food factory, blender, crockery, some other household stuff... i dont want my parents to over spend... would about $ 500 be enough or what?

As per today USD 500 equals AED 1.837,10. I can tell you that you will be able to buy a food processor, a blender and some more stuff for this price at Carrefour.

Right now Carrefour offers a Brown food processor for Dhs 345 (it's on promotion) incl. a scale and a coffee bean processor. I bought a Kenwood food processor for AED 595 incl. a juicer today.

Maybe your parents just can give you the money and you will be looking for what you want? That way you also would not have to worry about the weight.

On household items you also can make very good deals at the Dragon Mart in Dubai.
