  2. Long tire irons, plenty of patients and don't scratch you rims. It would be best to take it to a shop for this.

  3. You tube has several videos that show how to remove and mount motorcycle tires.  One of the important things that I have learned after changing around a hundred tires is to take advantage of the drop center of the rim.

  4. lmfao....why does everyone say take it to a shop, cant any of you guys do any of the work yourself ?

remove the air,lay the tire/rim under the bumper of a car, place the base of a bumper jack right at the edge of the tire/rim,pump the jack up untill the bead is broken,(tire separates from the rim)flip the tire/rim over and do the same to the other side.

pry the tire off of the rim with s***w drivers/flat irons.

replace the tire,THEN take it in to be balanced, this is a 20 minute job,and you wont have to pay all the extra money of removing it and reinstalling it.

This is a site with forums dedicated to the XJ models and it's rather good

I didn't think you meant changing the tire as much as you did removing the wheel and tire from the frame because it is a shaft drive?

  6. You could approach a car tyre shop with your tyre.  The equipment used by them would come in handy with your motorcycle tyre too !

  7. That really needs a tire guy to put it on a press and use compressed air to work the beading over the rim.

Trying to do it yourself is not worth the time and effort.
