I have had a year old neutered male cat for 8 months now, I have (2) 6 wks old kitties and need to decide which one to keep. Is it best to have a yr old neutered male and 6wk female or a yr old neutered male and a 6wk old male. Both kitties are due to be fixed as soon as they get older

  1. In general my experience, two neutered males become buddies and tend to play together (both do have to be neutered for this to be true).  Females tend to get impatient with boy antics.

  2. Well my kitten had kittens when she was just a few months old. So if you're planning on having one girl and one boy you should definitely get one of them fixed asap. Preferably the girl, but as for choosing whether to have two males or a female and a male it's up to you. Male cats tend to be more laid back and calm where as female usually are more uptight and cranky. But I have two female cats and they're extremely lovey and friendly so the choice is yours :)

  3. it shouldn't matter too much. The only problem you would really run into as they get older is if you keep the 2 males, the kitten might try to show dominance over the older one as he gets older. Usually not a big issue - the older cat will put him back in place! It's pretty much up to you as to which cat fits in better with your older cat, and which one you feel more connected to.

  4. Keep the one he seems to like to play with
