So currently my life is very hectic.

I'm taking all hard classes in school,

my parents treat me like i'm invisible,

if they even do pay attention to me it's

about my flaws, i have colleges to think

about, ACT'S, people who just are rude

to me because i am not part of their

dramatic social circle, i'm recovering from

an eating disorder, and i have ocd so i'm always

worrying and i just want some good ideas

on how to relieve stress. I have never been

not stressed in my entire life and any

suggestions would be amazing. Is there

any way to get my mind to relax. Please,

help. Thank you!

  1. i find that taking deep long breaths helps

also running and flexing all your muscles releases the particles that cause stress

  2. taking daily walks  will help you relax, nice long bubble baths, and the doctor can prescribe you medication also to relax.

  3. Prayer, Prayer and more prayer. I have an eating disorder also and I joined a food anonymous program. It really helps, lots of support there. But, I know the only real road to recovery is to give up my problems to God. He is the only way. I need healing from pain from my past and trying to please others. You sound young, I am 39 and believe me, I commend you for asking for help early, before you have kids and a family to deal with our mess.

    Take care!

  4. Wow, I can so relate. Boy, have I been there!

I learned these from a college success strategies class and they proved to work. I only remember a few that I actually have used. Get outside, go for a walk, and view nature. Do some stretching exercises that involve relieving tension in your shoulders. Use a stress ball. Listen to music you love! Create a safe-haven which could be your bedroom, where you get away from and forget about everyday stressors. Find a family member or a TRUSTED friend you can talk about your frustrations to, (although do not use them to vent your frustrations). Keep a diary. And so on...

Just take everyday at a time. You may think that you don't have time for it, but working out everyday helps a LOT. At least going for a short walk or doing jump ropes, helps you get your mind off of things.

If you love shopping, go to the mall and look at stuff and try things on, walk the entire mall, that way you get some exercise in and you can also take your mind off of stuff.

Well it's a lot of information, but I tried to help, so hope it did... because I know how you feel.

Ps. My parents are the same way! I can't stand it. But my siblings always assure me its because they care and they want me to be the best that I can be. In my parents case- they don't express themselves the same way other people do, less emotional and lovey dovey. They're more like tough love. You know what I mean? So just remind yourself, they do care about you, they just have a backwards way of showing it.
