Need help understanding the "Volturi" in New Moon

Question

i read the chapter a couple of times but i never understood it. I need:

• the "family" members descriptions

• Who they are

• what they want

• Who is Heidi

• Who is Jane

• Why did Edward go there

• IS EDWARD BLIND???

• Why was Bella scared when she recognized and saw Heidi?

• I need these questions answered and more details and info about the Volturi thoroughly answered... i would like more info on them than i asked for before i start "Eclipse"

they are vampre rolyty that go back long ago they also keep the vampires in check

they want Bella to be a vampire

Not shure about heidi or jane

Edward went there b/c he thought bell killed her self when she jumped off that cliff so he was going to the voultri to ask them to kill him b/c he couldnt live with out bella but when they wouldnt he walked in to the light to give him self away so they would half to kill him (did you even read this if you did you would at least know this part)

no hes not blind..he reads minds but he cant read bellas and no one is shure why

i dont know everything, but i'll try

the Volturi is the "royal" family of all vampires. They have been around for 3,000 years or something.

Edward isn't blind. He thought he was dreaming.

Bella was scared of Heidi because Heidi is a vampire hunter.

she basicly pretends to be a tour guide person and brings like 40 people into the Volturi's home. they have no clue.

Edward went there because he thought Bella died through a misunderstanding and he wanted to die since she was dead.

i know its kinda weird.

They don't really want anything besides the humans not knowing that vampires exist.
