Need help upgrading my psp

Question

i really need some expert help

im trying to upgrade my psp

the reason for this is im trying to find a firmware that includes a recovery menu as mine doesnt (i no how to get it up it just dosent work)

so ive looked at instructions for how to do this and i dowloaded the upgrade but theres no ption to open the file it just says find or save. and the litle icon is i piece of paper and i dont think this is right. do i need to download a program to oopen this

While I can't give you instructions on how to do it, I can point you in the right direction. Try the link below, they have some great instructions on how to work things through with upgrades, downgrades homebrew firmwares and software etc. Just be careful you don't brick your PSP.
