Question:

Need help ... what kind of glue do I use for this?

My brother had an alligator head in his garden. He found it in a lake down the street a few weeks ago. Today, my neighbor's son (5 years old) and my nephew (4 years old) broke it. They really did a job on it. Broke the bottom, I guess it's the jaw, in 3 pieces and pulled all the teeth out.

My brother is very upset. He went fishing until Monday so while he was gone I'm going to try to put it back together for him but I'm not sure what kind of glue to use. I need something that's super strong, good for the outdoors ... and the head was pretty dried out from being in the sun so it's a little brittle in spots.

Also, after it's back together what can I put/spray on it, as a preservative?

Thanks so much for any help or suggestions.

  1. I found this stuff called Seal It All which worked great on my sidemirror on my car. And I'm talking the broken assembly for the mirror!

It was really cheap too. Plus it dries clear, and pretty fast. Good Luck

  2. E6000 glue from lowes or wwalmart.

  3. Gorilla glue. Be careful though, it expands a little. Less is better with it.

  4. Use epoxy,   It will be the strongest bond you can get and works outside.  While it is still in the "rubbery" or "gel" stage, you can easily remove the squeeze out.

For God's sake, don't even think about Gorilla Glue.  I have seen way too many botched applications of this.  It will make an extreme mess.

  5. i would use crazy glue to make sure the thing does not fall apart again as a preservative your going to have to go to a tackle shop for that and ask them over there.
