My son is extremely outgoing and independent, however he has to be center of attention, no matter what he has to do to get it? How can I teach him that he needs to step back a little without taking his confidence away?

  1. All four year olds think they are the center of the universe. Send him to a good preschool where the emphasis is on learning to get along with others, refuse to give in to his demands. A simple, "Sorry sweetie, I'll be with you when I get done with this." will teach him to wait. As he gets better at it, acknowledge the effort. Point out that you know it can be hard to wait and he did a good job. And relax, Kindergarten teachers are experts at this sort of thing. If he hasn't learned by the time he goes he will then.

  2. umm.. you should try to teach him why that isn't good to be the center of attention and also show him wat could happen if he keep it up

  3. it sounds  to me either hes a only child or just became a big brother if  hes the only child you gotta get around other children more and if he does have siblings don't worry about it let throw a fit he'll get over it over time he'll realize he doesn't want to be the  center of attention  time always heals wounds of all types

  4. U should really talk to him bout dat. If u go out and he does something like that just tell him after. Soon he should get used to acting appropriatly.

Cut him some slack hes 4. Children at that age are like that.
