Question:

Need help with ACT science section?

Okay so i've taken the ACT 5 times now (i know its ridiculous), and my highest score is a 33. My english, math, and reading scores were 34, but my science was only 28. I really want to get my science score up because I'm interested in a science-related career, and it seems pathetic that I can't do good in an area that I enjoy. Does anyone have tips on how to do better on the section? Also, I always seem to run out of time and have to end up guessing.

  1. I've heard many say the best way is to do better is to do lots of practice tests.  Maybe even do each passage individually, giving yourself 5 minutes for each passage. You have to work on your speed and comprehension, the best way to do that is practice.

Don't worry too much about how you do on the science section in relation to a future, science-driven career.  It's really graph reading, not really science.

  2. Hey, wow, I kinda got the same prob. I havn't really taken them yet, but will for the first time in the fall. The english and math seem like apiece of cake but the science gets me too. I went on sparknotes.com. They seem to have some helpful stuff there...

Idk, I'm gonna go check it out right now...

Good luck though. Your scores arn't bad.:)
