Installed new liner this year and of course had several leaks, but its still leaking at skimmer if water level it too high. Any suggestions? Should I lower level and unscrew skimmer? Seal with water sealing caulk or what

Doing this on my own single mom - please give me helpful ideas! Got enough telling me I don't know what I'm doing

  1. Replacing those skimmer gasket(s) is really the best solution and yes, the only way to do it with an above ground is to drop the water level to just below the skimmer face plate. No lower. You'll want to have the gasket(s) already handy when the water is draining down because you need to swap them out quickly. Vinyl has a tendency to shrink when water is taken out or there's also the possibility of movement. Those s***w holes have to line up in the liner. Depending on the make of the skimmer, you'll need one, or two gaskets.

If you go the marine silicone route, you'll need to do it from the inside of the pool. It won't work just applying it around the exterior of the skimmer housing on the outside of the pool wall..
