i stuck on some questions and i really need help with this one.

Discuss Fitzgerald's use of the automobile in this novel. What do you think might have make the automobile an appealing symbol to Fitzgerald in the early 1920's?

  1. maybe because automobiles were extremely expensive back than so they were another sign of extravaguence and plus that car had menu a lot to mr. gatsby and a lot of people in town had admired that car

  3. The auto was symbolic of the have and have-nots. And in Gatsby the clash was also with old and new money, so many were getting rich that now the symbol of prestige, society and class standing was available to the masses.  

  4. the automobile was probably a symbol of wealth since it had just recently been invented

  5. The automobile was expensive back in the day and was seen as a social status and shows how much money you had in your wallet.
