Need help with Sony Vegas 7 and Adobe after effects video editing programs..?

I just got a canon hv30 and Starting editing video I need some help

When im editing in Sony vegas 7 what should I render to so that after I can edit in after effects and then once in after effects what should I render to for the finished product.

I want the best quality for vimeo or youtube since my camera is HD

also what should I render to if I am only editing in sony vegas

You should probably do your work in After Effects before Sony Vegas..... of course, you can capture and conform your footage in Vegas, but don't waste your time editing if you want to add effects. For one thing, After Effects takes a long time to render, so your footage will be very very laggy--even with powerful computers. So my advice is to capture the footage into Vegas, then import ONLY the clips you want to add effects to into AE then export as a Quicktime Movie (on Macs) or an .avi file. Then you can import into Vegas and do a more accurate final cut.

    ...ps: go with vimeo. I know that's not what you were asking but vimeo has much better quality than Youtube. It actually takes HD videos.
