    Pate: hummus or vegetable pate

french onion soup: substitute beef and chicken stock to vegetable stock

  2. Main Meal:

Cottage Pie - substitute meat for Quorn mince

Toad In The Hole - substitute meat for Quorn sausages

All desserts are vegetarian. If they were for a vegan then you have to leave out all dairy products.

  3. Main Dish:

Lunch or dinner : Substitue a Veggie Burger for a "Meat" burger.

Breakfast: Subsitute veggie sausage for regular sausage and tofu scrambled eggs for regular scrambled eggs.

  4. Main Meals

1.Vegetarian Lasagna or basic pasta like a Penne in a tomato based sauce: substitute the meat for veggies like eggplant, mushrooms, spinach, or even a squash.

2.A Full on Veggie stew or soup. You can't go wrong with it. You can add such a variety of veggies in substitute to any meats that would usually be found in a stew.

    Starters

1.Fresh taco Salad: Tortilla chips or a tortilla bowl, with romaine lettuce black or pinto beans, fresh salsa with parsley, and avocados or guacamole. You can really build on this dish. No ground beef or chicken, the beans can be like the meat substitute. You can also use corn as a main component to the dish.

    2. Pesto pizza. You can put artichokes on it to red onions .

    Desserts(most desserts are vegetarian)

1.I would try a cookie, like a cranberry crisp cookie with walnuts, or a baked apricot apple or blueberry crisp tart. or even a fruit tart. Look into a fruit pizza cause you can use all kinds of fruit, you can play around with the recipe.

    2. Crepes and fruit or my favorite, strawberry shortcake.

  5. Main dish -

    - Veggie chili, meat isn't needed in chili since the beans have enough protein already.

    - Mac and Cheese, it's actually a vegetarian dish, just don't tell your meat eating friends that. :-)

    - hot dogs and beens just use veggie Smart Dogs and vegetarian beans.

The only desserts that aren't vegetarian are the one's that use Jello.

  6. You make make shepards pie and substitute the hamburger for soy burger stuff (in the tofu section of store).  Any kind of custurdy dessert you could use silken tofu instead of milk.  Also, you could use silken tofu in cheese cake, as well.  Check out the vegetarian times website for recipes.  Lots of good stuff there.

  7. I would suggest making something vegan because

    1. Lacto/ovo/pesc/omni, etc can eat a vegan item

    2. but a vegan wouldn't eat a lacto/ovo/pesce/omni/etc. item

    3. It would also inform your peers there are not just one 'type' of vegetarian.

As for meals, I would try to keep it simple. Pick a theme, maybe, to stick to. Like, go Italian, Mexican, or Asian!

    Substitutes are easy.

In place of eggs, you can use tofu, Ener-G egg replacer, and even bananas.

In place of steak, you can make a tofu steak.

Instead of having a burger, you can have a veggie burger.

Anything a meat-eater consumes, there is most likely a substituted vegetarian item out there and if there isn't one premade- there is usually a recipe.

    I would suggest going Mexican.

For starters, you can make a bean soup and a declicious salad with some kind of avocado dressing.

The main meals can be so easy! Like vegetable fajitas and cheese enchiladas.

Dessert doesn't have to be crazy. You can buy some soy or rice ice cream and serve that with some fruit since it is a school project, they might not be expecting you to make everything from scratch!

Main meals: 1) Chick pea, chili and Tahini burger with  ketchup pickles to taste, served in sesame buns with rocket salad and balsamic dressing plus large chips. 2) Moussaka - made with vegetarian mince. Served  with Greek salad.
