For my internet access the company I use is Blue Ridge Cable. I'm going to buy and iPod Touch today and would like to access the internet wirelessly. If I want to buy a wirless router would it have to be from Blue Ridge or could I buy a cheap one at Radio Shack? How would my internet company bill me?

  1. It shouldn't be a problem. You could buy a router from a shop (like Radio shack) and if you're not sure about compatibility, see if there's anyone there who can advise you. It might be worth looking on the Internet for good router reviews, as some aren't so good.

You don't need to contact your ISP when you change from modem to router, just follow router set up instructions. You will be billed in the same way as you are now - either with a capped on uncapped limit on how much usage.

I advise you password protect your router, because it's going to be wireless, so if it's unprotected anyone within close proximity will be able to use your Internet - esp important to prevent it if you're on a capped service!
