Im having my birthday party in a sports bar and im going to pay for the 50 first people that i invite to go in for free the rest have to pay $10 to go in. Everyone has to pay for their drinks, is that fair? or is it too much to ask for when im the one inviting them?

  1. If you are going to have a party in a Sports bar with a cover charge, then you should pay for all your invited guests not just the first fifty. Maybe you should reconsider having the party at that place or see if you can work out a deal with the owner/manager.

  2. I agree with Jenny's answer.  Negotiate with sports bar owner!

    happy b-rthday!  Drink responsibly!

  3. They should pay for their own drinks. Trust me, 50 or so people drinking for free is not a good sight. They will send you straight to the poor house. Paying for their entrance fee is fine. Be sure to have on the invitations something like Alcohol not included.

  4. It's your birthday.  The only rule should be you don't pay for anything!

  5. It all depends on what you and your friends usually do. With my friends we all pay our own way. From time to time someone will pick up an others ticket but when we have a crowd no one needs to get stuck with everyone's bill.

  6. Well, there might be some hurt feelings if one of your closest friends doesn't get there in time to be one of the first 50 to get in for free.  Negotiate with the sports bar to reduce the cover charge for everyone on your guest list.  Make sure they have the guest list or provide them with someone that can check off the names of each person that comes on the list.  If they are unwilling to reduce the fee, then either have everyone except your family or closest personal friends pay for themselves.

  7. You have a lot of friends!!!  If they are comfortable with paying they will come.  Don't worry about it.
