Need help with a basic sample legal scenario for my law class?

Question

I am taking business law and have to write a 200-300 word response to the sample scenario given below. I am able to find the ethical reasons however, I am having problems finding the LEGAL aspects of WHY NOT to sell the goods to a third world country. I just need a few (2-3) legal reasons and a brief detail of each legal reason. I cannot find the legal reasons in our books or online.

I am not looking for someone to write the response for me. I can do that myself.

The company you work for makes filters for kidney dialysis machines. Several shipments of filters do not meet U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) standards and, therefore, cannot be sold in the United States as they will not properly filter fluids from the kidney. The company decides to sell these filters in certain Third World countries where the standards are not as stringent. You are to state why the company should not sell the filters in a Third World country, on legal and ethical grounds.

You may not like this answer, or even consider it appropriate, but here it is, from an ethical lawyer - a judge.  "The fatter your ethics, the thinner your wallet." That's the real answer. All the rest is internal struggle.

so this is the kind of attorney you are gonna be? the one that gives up so easily on research?

if you can't find the answer, then write that you didn't find supporting info.

but don't come here and expect us to do your homework, unless you explain at least what research you did, and why you are sure you have already exhausted all avenues.

after all, this is the ethics section. There is a homework section, but is it smart to come to an ethics section and ask us to do your homework?
