I'm doing my summer math packet for algebra and i reached a problem that stumped me. I haven't done a problem like it for a while. Can someone help me. The problem is 7(3-6)=6(4+t) I need to find the value of t

  1. t= -7.5

    x= -20

  2. First multipy the number outside of the parantheses

    21- 42 = 24 + 6t then subtract 42

    -21 = 24 + 6t then subtract 24 from both sides

    -21 - 24 = 6t

    - 45 = 6t then divide each side by 6

    t = -45/6

    God, what an ugly fraction

  3. first one is easy do 3-6 first to get -3      7x-3=-21   so 6(4+t)=-21 so 6x?=-21 so do opposite to figure out answer -21/6 -3.5 so 4+?=3.5

    -.5 so t=-.5 happy to help now for the second question ...

    you want to find the one without variable first so 5(7-(-2) not hard at all 7- -2=9 5x9=45 so 3(5+x) has to = 3 times what = 45. . .15 so 5+? = 15? 10 so x=10

    short and simple the answers are t=  -.5 or -1/2   and x= 10

    happy to help

  4. 7(3-6)=6(4+t)

    Well 1st of all you multiply out the two sides.

    So you get:

    21-42=24+6t

    then you do whatever sums you can do:

    -21=24+6t

    then you have to get t on its own so you bring the 24 across and change the sign:

    -21-24=6t

    therefore 6t=-45

    therefore t=-45/6

    Follow the same method to work out the 2nd equation.

  5. 1) 7(3-6)=6(4+t)

    7(-3)= 24+6t

      -21-24= 6t

       -45=6t

       -7.5=t

    2) 15+3x= 5(9)

        3x=45-15

        3x= 30

        x=10
