Need help with a new tank?!?!?!?!?

i am getting a 10gallon tank for 2female guppies and a male guppy, can i put some tetras and plecos in eith it????

  1. Tetras r good but no plecos.


  2. The plecs get HUGE, so unless you're plannign on eventually upgrading to a larger tank I wouldn't. They are also p**p machines and create a lot of waste. I'd instead go with Cory's.

    You can put some tetra's in as they are low waste. However, remember your guppies WILL be pregnant and spawn a lot of fry. So your tank will be more than populated relatively soon depending on if your female guppies are virgins when you get them.

  3. you could put a few tetras but soon or later your guppies will spawn and that tank will be overpopulated  

  4. 10 gallons is too small for any pleco or suckermouth fish. In theory Otos could fit, but they need to be in groups, and need very mature (over 6 month old) tanks with heavy soft algae growth.

    You could consider a group of 5-6 neon tetras or ember tetras maximum.

    But with 2 female guppies and a male guppy, they'll soon fill that tank on their own.
