Need help with a paper for world history?

Question

I need to compare two of the revolutions that took place around the Atlantic Ocean in the late 18th and early 19th centuries; American, French, Haitian, and Latin American. What were the causes that led to each? What was the nature of the revolution? What were the long term effects?

I'm clueless....help!

Here is a clue, the Haitian revolution was deeply influenced by the French Revolution. Toussaint L'Ouverture who was a freed black leader was impressed by the ideals of the French Revolution and wanted to free the slaves and become a union with France. When this failed due to French retalliation, the more violent aspects of the French Revolution took hold in Haiti.
