Need help with a quote?

Ok this is for a book report and im alittle rusty on the whole quote thing, so help me out please?

the original quote is:

"Because God doesn't like pride."

I want to change it to:

"God doesn't like pride."

I dont know what i need to put in replacement of the "but".

You need what's called an ellipsis to indicate that you've removed a portion of the quote.  This can be written as "..." or "[...]".

e.g. "[...] God doesn't like pride."

Answer 2

"...God doesn't like pride."1
