My husband loves sweet Italian sausages. Does anyone have a good way to fix them? I usually put them in spaghetti sauce, but I want to try and do something different. Any good suggestion would be much appreciated. Thank you.

  1. Pan sear the sausage whole, when brown add fresh fennel (Anise)  and red onion. When fennel and onion are soft is soft deglaze with a sweeter white wine like a pinot grigio (sp?)  Serve in a sandwich with romano cheese, or with a creamy polenta

  2. They work great sliced up (after frying) in an omelett with some provelone cheese and fried green peppers and onion.

  3. Try them with creamy, cheesy mashed potato and an onion gravy. Or with cannalleni beans baked in the oven with tomatoes and herbs.

  4. Slice and fry them crisp and serve with a spicy brown mustard, it is a perfect appetizer.  Grill them and serve with grilled onions and sweet red peppers on a hoggie roll with melted provolone and sweet mustard.  Simmer in beer and serve with sauteed peppers and onions and fried potatoes.  Make them for breakfast with your favorite eggs.  Take the casings off, make into patties and make a fried egg sandwich with a sausage patty on an english muffin.

  5. Kabobs on the grill... cut up pieces  of  your favorite veggies,  and cut up uncooked sausages... put  the pieces alternately on bamboo skewers (soak  em  in water for 30 minutes  first  so  they won't catch fire  on the grill)  and brush with a mixture  of butter and or oil ( I use Olive oil)  with Italian herbs  mixed  in . Grill for 30 minutes  or  until done.. brushing  with herb butter often, and  turning frequently.  These are yummy  and  with a little  rice  on the side, or  a nice salad..  is  perfect for a meal.

Another way  my guys  ( I have 3 teens)  like  them  is grilled,  and put on a hot dog bun,  with coleslaw on top !

  6. how about some type of sandwich - Rachel Ray just made some keilbasa sausage reubens yesterday on her show, - she just cut the sausage into bread length sizes and then she split them in half so that they would lay flat on the slices of bread, grilled the split sausages on a griddle and assembled the reubens - try doing a search for the full recipe, it looked really yummy

  7. Cut each link in three, put into a baking dish with cut up potatoes and onions, cloves of garlic, s&p, thyme, olive oil. Into the oven for about 40 minutes on 400
