Here is what i have now, 2 12 alpine type r's a jvc head unit and a rockford fosgate t500.1 amp. i am goin to sell my jvc head unit because it doesnt have amp preouts or w/e theyre called and i was told can ruin my subs. i am going to purchase a alpine 9881 i believe its called for 130. i am selling the amp for 200 and purchasing a nearly equal amp thats alpine for 230(cant remember the model) these are both off of a website brand new. i want all new speakers also but i have no idea what i need. i want type r speakers tho. could you please tell me what speakers i need such as 6x9 tweeters etc. also do i need an additional amp to power these? i also should tell you that i want everything alpine because i am amazed at the quality and prices of their products. and one last question, how much do you think it will cost me for the whole setup of speakers not counting subs, amp, or cd player? thank you for any info you can give me.

  1. most likely it will be 3x5 in the dash 5.25 for the front and 6x9 in the rear, no you do not need a seperate amp for them, it should run you around 300 maybe more for all 6 speakers, make sure you have the speakers in the dash not all cars have them

  2. you don't need to sell the deck just because it doesn't hove pre-outs, you can get a line output converter for like 10 bucks that will hook up to the speaker leads and give you rca output for the subs and still use those speaker leads to the speakers.

  3. first of all good choice. check out the alpine web site to look at there range.

first off all you need a good component set for the fronts.

a set of 6x9s cut out for the rear doors/panel's both amped by a 4 way 400w digital amp.

an mrp 1000w amp to power subs.

most alpine head units come packed with as many pre-outs you need.

the more you can afford the better sounds you will get. hope you have done some sound deadening as well(as important as the system you install!)

i have full alpine install but chose to go with MTX subs as they really shake like f**K..deep as.

hope I've been off some assistance
