Need help with cell phone carriers and plans?

Question

because of the recent merge of surewest and verizon wireless in northern california, my contract has been voided, and i have the opportunity to opt out of a 2 year contract. As of right now i have 450 minutes a month and 500 txt msgs for $40 as a verizon customer. im unhappy with my phone and ready to switch carriers and phone and sign another 2 year agreement. in your opinion which wireless carriers have you personally had good luck with? are there any carriers that will offer the same services mentioned above (or more) for roughly the same price, if not cheaper?

Well AT&T has that same bundle for $5 more (except only 200 texts instead of 500) but you get rollover minutes

at&t wireless has the best service so far and they have good phones with affordable prices
