Need help with chosing cellphone?

I don't have one . . .Yes probably the only 28 year old on this planet without one . . .but due to financial restraints it was not tops on my list for awhile until recent. Visited a store in where I plan to get it, but the guy who worked there was not helpful . . . as I said I was not going to buy today and but will come back, so he figured he would not get his sale so why bother giving me any useful help. All the other people were busy so I got stuck with him. I need help chosing a good phone. A lot to ask but need advice. I am going through this company so it has to be from this link.

I know someone with the Samsung r610, and they are simply in love with it.  The LG rumor is a pretty good texting phone.  The Samsung Instinct is the one I would go with (it has been known as the iPhone killer to some people), but if money is an issue, you might not want to pay for a data plan for this phone.  So I would say the Rumor if you are into texting or the Samsung r610 if you just want a phone.
