Need help with creative debate topics?

Question

I have a debate group and I need to come up with at least 5 controversial subjects to discuss. Any ideas outside the norm? Any recent events/news stories that can have two strong sides would be very helpful. Thanks!

-Race and the election

-Casual s*x among teens and young adults (especially the whole friends with benefits thing)

-Outrageous cost on medications that do not have a generic available due to the patent being so long. (other side may argue that it pays for the research and is to the patient's benefit)

-Foreclosure and housing market crisis ( irresponsible homeowners or shady lending practices..and there are a lot of both)

Did the military pick up technology by reverse engineering a captured flying saucer from Roswell. First maybe you have to prove the argument do Aliens exist. Then ask, can space aliens be baptized.

One could be the polyigmist compound in texas... Thats really debateable, like whats the best thing for the kids, taking them away from their familys or keeping them there. But that was a while ago.
