  1. if  the stove top come with the 4 wire pig tail, then call for help , the stove is wired internal for 4 wire.   if they sold you the wire by its self, the stove is wired for 3 wire and needs to be changed for 4 wire, go back and get a 3 wire plug.  you also can look at the instructions in book form or pasted to the back of the stove on changing the cord.

  2. First of all you did not send enough information to really for SURE advise you on hooking up electrical wires. It can KILL you if you do it wrong. That is why there are electricians and they are licensed.

Stove wires represent: green is ground. white is neutral. red and black are power.

A guide to hooking up this from the information that you have given would be to connect white to white, red to red, black to red. green to a new ground connected to the grounding bar in the electrical panel. But please get more advice from someone familiar with electrical that can actually see your problem and do not use any advice from the internet.

  3. With the power off, connect the red stove wire with 1 red line wire, connect the black stove wire to the other red line wire. Connect the green and white stove wires to the while incoming wire.  Place cover over the junction box and turn the power back on and you will be ready to start cooking!

  4. The stove wires are color coded. In the U.S. :

Red & Black -' Lines' (Doesn't matter which),

    Connect to Reds from wall.

White - Neutral  Connect to 'White` from wall.

Green - Ground. - there will be either a metallic box in the wall which is grounded, or a bare ground wire in there somewhere. Connect to it.

Do be sure that your old circuit is large enough to serve

    the new range.

(There will be a nameplate giving amp.s load and minimum circuit breaker required.)

  5. if you hook the green and white wires to the bare wire from the source, than you will have current on a bare wire when your timers and lights of your oven are on.hire a certified electrician to run new 4 wire circuit.and to fireman4,current is heat
