Need help with eviction notice

I've given tenants 30 day notice. but due to finding drugs and paraphernalia can i now give them a 24 hr notice ? they also didn't pay all their damage deposit. i live in calgary, alberta, canada

  1. I'd suggest just like everyone did when you asked this question earlier, that you investigate what landlord/tenant laws are in effect where you live. You might also want to contact the police.

    There are very specific conditions that qualify for a 24 hour notice.  I do not believe your situation is one of them.

    However, you can give a 14 day notice for this kind of illegal activity.

    I don't know your reason for giving the original 30 day notice.  But it would seem to me that this latest discovery (drugs on the premises) takes precedence.  Just remember to make sure the official paper work is properly filled out and filed.  Good luck in getting rid of them.

  3. No, you can't just kick them out, even if they are doing drugs.  The only thing you can do is report what you found to the police.

    If you don't report it and someone found out you knew about it and didn't do anything, you could be held liable.
