Need help with fear!?

I rly want to be an actress when I act on stage im not scared but when I sing OMG i freak out i u can't even hear me! Help me!

It sounds as if you don't have the same confidence in your singing as you do your acting. I'd pretend that singing was just another form of acting, that you are singing the words rather than saying them. Just belt it out. You can always practice singing, tape yourself to see what you really sound like, and then you can work on it so you are more sure of your singing.

I believe Its not a lack of confidence- but you disrespect your voice. I think from what you've written, you do not appreciate your voice with others.. I was ALLOT like that- except not with singing- but with a guitar- If I was at home I'd play fine until I had to play infront of 200 people, then I started shaking. The massive help tips I learnt to this day was- (and do note people get confidence very slowly or very fast):

Slowly bring in more people to hear you sing.. Go to a karaoke night if you want- they're always a laugh and doesn't matter if you believe you aren't great.- Or host one yourself with friends and gradually increase the numbers- If you're fading voice-wise- acknowledge it- dont skimp out and avoid it- take control as soon as you notice and project it all.

Another one is- Just Dont care- adopt a positive, light hearted aproach to things- the Audiance wants to watch (just think of it as a small communal event in the country where everyone knows eachother) Which helps ALLOT especially when I do drama scenes- they want fun and you are there to have fun. Go with the flow!



By the way those are 2 tips that got me a higher GCSE than anyone else in the final perfrmance- So Mould them to your suitings.

I like to think of it as humans are animal. Animals dont have to be perfect.
