Alright, hopefully someone who knows a lot can answer this. I had a 00g in both of my ears for a while and went from 00g to 9/16 because we had the tappers laying around the house, this was a bad idea, my ears blew out of course and i left my gauges out. I want to start gauging them again, my right ear is perfect to start gauging again, its at about a 2g but my other ear has formed scar tissue in the front. From the back I can stick a 2g in fine but only untill it hits the scar tissue. I was wondering an easy way of eliminating this issue? Maybe making a small slit to cut open the scar tissue?! HELP MEE!

  1. Oh god no, don't cut the scar tissue. You should actually show your ear to a professional and see what he or she thinks. It may be okay to put a 0g taper in so you can get the 2g back in but to be on the safe side, you really should get advice from a professional. You don't want to end up making the scar tissue any worse than it already is.

  2. Hey man, I've guaged my ears several times. Don't mess around with scar tissue, it leaves permenant damage. Leave the guages out for abit, let it heal some more.

  3. Noo don't cut the scar tissue, you'll actually make it worse because you'll be creating yet more scar tissue.

Your best best is to get hold of emu oil. This is incredibly good for lumps/bumps scar tissue etc. You should massage it into your lobe daily. The actual process of massaging your lobe should help quite a bit, and the emu oil can reduce the scar tissue. It wont eliminate it though- so if you pick this method you'll never be able to go really big.

You could and prehaps its the best idea to consult a professional. I think he will give you the same massage emu oil tips as I have done but, he may give you some handy advice. Maybe he can do something for your ear? I doubt that though.

Really I think you need to give your ear plenty of time and deffinately massage it. It wouldn't hurt to baby it and clean it with sea salt water either.

Other than that theres not a whole lot you can do. That should help shift the scar stissue a fair bit though- just dont cut it, youll make it a lot worse!

    Good luck with this.
