the directions are not real clear, and my husband needs help.

  1. If you are talking about a trailer wiring harness, It should just plug into the trucks tail light wiring harness. There will be a connector in the  trucks harness that connects the wires from one side of the truck to the other. You have to separate it and plug the trailer harness into it

    This is for the ready made harnesses that you can buy.
