  1. Well, first of all I think we need a little more info from you. Were you fitted to standard length and lie? Did you have any sort of lie or length fitting? Are you looking for new clubs?

Just from the info from your question I'm going to say you want a flatter lie angle (approx. 1 degree flat) in shafts that are 1/2'' over to have the equivalent lie as the standard lie and length club, but with the length difference the impact can change drastically (the difference between making solid contact consistently and hitting fat or thin shots.

With a longer shaft the club head will be further from you thus the shaft will lay flatter, that means the toe of the club stick up more. This is why you would need a flatter lie in the 1/2 over standard clubs.

Shoot me an e-mail if you have any questions.

  2. Everyone seems to be experts these days. First of all with each 1/2" the clubs become more upright. Second if you are hitting them straight then no adjustment is necessary. I have been fitting clubs for 38 yrs. there are many that can help you. My suggestion is to see your Pro and let him see your swing and take his leading on what to do.

    Good luck

  3. some people will say that every half an inch longer changes(flattens)  the lie angle by a degree. but if you need the extra 1/2 inches then you will probably improve your posture, so in reality the lie angle could not change at all because youd be standing more upright. the only real way to tell is hitting the irons off a lie board, or just put some electrical tape and hit off the mats at the range. if marks are left on the tape toward the toe you need to go with a more upright lie angle, but if its off the heel then you need a flatter lie angle.

  4. I suggest that you go back to the person who fitted you to clubs in the first place and talk to them or if you can't get a hold of them go see a pro at a golf course somewhere and get them to have a look at your clubs.

    Have a good one...
