  1. A strobe light?  They're bright enough that you'll still see it even if it's broad daylight.  You'd have to hire one, but it should give you the effect you want.

  2. Contact a local lighting rental company and ask them about molefeys. These are the square lighting instruments that are placed on the front lighting trusses at rock concerts. I would try to get at least four of them and place them upstage (behind) your skit, preferably above the shoulders in line with the heads, and at the appropriate moment turn them on. This could be as simple as putting them on a switch. I would ask for assistance from someone who is familiar with theater lighting.

  3. That is very powerful.  I think I would use sound instead of light since it will be during the day.  Could you have someone bang a metal garbage can or do something to make a very loud sound?  Or perhaps you could have "Jesus" throw something - like glitter - you just need something to represent the power - I really think a noise of some kind would work best.

  4. i don't have access to youtube at work so i'm going to ask question...is the show outside? does the fact that's it's during the day effect the lighting...like, does your space have windows? if it's an outside thing, you could do something different to parallel the feeling you want. add a different yet still powerful effect like throw a dark blanket over your audience to represent the demons fall. the darkness combined with the sensation of something sweeping over their head could be effective. mainly what i'm saying is if lighting is too big to overcome, go outside the box and look at other avenues to create the sensation that you think the lights would. you may come out of it with something much more moving. good luck!
