Need help with magic jack phone service?

Question

I got this cool magic jack phone service thing that plugs into your computer and lets you talk to people on the phone for 20$ a year! and i was wondering for those who have it if you could tell me how long it takes to activate and what i have to do to activate it.

We just got MJ and can receive calls from cell phones but not from land lines...it tells people the number is not in service..anyone have any clues...
