  1. Question

    I would like to know the equation for:

    Edward has $300 in his savings account and plans to save $20 every two weeks from his paycheque.

    Denise has $175 in her account and plans on saving $35 every two weeks from her paycheque.

    Answer

    These equations have x as the number of paychecks.

    Edward = $300 + $20x

    Denise = $175 + $35x

  2. Edward has $300 in his savings account and plans to save $20 every two weeks from his paycheque.

    E = 300 + 20t

    Denise has $175 in her account and plans on saving $35 every two weeks from her paycheque.

    D = 175 + 35t

    t is a two-week period

    Maybe you want to know in how many weeks E & D will have the same amount in savings?

    300 + 20t = 175 + 35t

    -15t = -125

    t = 8 1/3

    In 16 2/3 weeks they will have the same amount

    I expected an integer for an answer

    Maybe I asked the wrong question
