  1. 2 out of an eighth  a pound so much for easy set

  2. Skip the shock, use liquid chlorine, sodium hypochlorite, 12.5%.  For 1ppm with SHC use 3.68oz.  Normal chlorine residual levels are 1-3ppm with max of 5.  If filling for the first time it would be prudent to shock or superchlorinate your pool.  To do this it is most effective to do when sun is off the water.  First time, use 10x the 1ppm value.  Wait until following day, test with chlorine test kit and swim when safe.

To maintain the chlorine residual use a floating duck with Trichlor tablets.  Also, you need conditioner, stabilizer or Cyanuric Acid, all the same and put in enough to attain 30-50 ppm.  This will protect your chlorine, any chlorine, and allow it to live longer.

Pool chemical doses are figured as follows...

    1#/12,000 gallons or 0.0000833#/gallon, or 0.00133oz/gallon

    0.00133oz x 3300gallons = 4.4oz or 0.0000833 x 3300 gallons = 0.275#

    You're welcome!!
