Okay so I'm trying to play the riff of sos by the Jonas Brothers on my guitar, I know I'm doing it right but it doesn't sound right. Is there a certain way I have to tune my guitar to make it sound right?

  1. It's standard tuning so leave your guitar the way it is. What they're using is distortion. If you're using an electric guitar, your amp should have that effect installed.

  2. first of all i wouldnt try playing Jonas bros cuz all of their music is edited, they play it then use machines to make it sound better, and sync for concerts too. But yes there are different styles of tuning like drop tunings where the guitars strings pitch are lowered a fret or so to make the guitars strings lower pitched. Goodluck, but in my opinion i would try and play some REAL rock ;)

  3. i dont knwo anything about the Jonas brothers music but yes there a certain tunings you have to use for a guitar to sound right

  4. its never going to sound right because its a song by the Jonas brothers...

  5. well you could go to a site and find out the tuning cordination the there guitars.Or you could tune it in a different way by starting from the 6th string and down.Just hold down the fifth fret on your sixth string and your fifth string is gonna have to soound the same. Then you move down to the fifth hold down the fifth fret and make the fourth string sound the same. Then so on so on.Except for the 3rd string , just hold the 4th fret then back to the fifth for the 2nd.

    hope this helps

    :)

  6. You might not be playing it in the correct key, you could check online, or find the music in a store. You also could be playing it in the open position. Some bands like to play in the higher, closed position. Find a guitar book, or ask an expert about how to learn closed position. An easy way to transfer keys, instead of tuning up a note, or down a note, is to get a capo, which you can find in any guitar shop or online, which fastens on the neck of your guitar, in a certain fret, to go to a different key, kind of like playing a continuous bar chord. If this still doesn't help, you should ask a guitar expert, or go to a guitar lessons place, and ask one of them to give you a lesson or two on that song. I hope I helped out. Bye!

  7. im really sorry to have to tell you this but..its never goign to sound good...its from the jonas brothers..
