Question:

Need help with my hardrive?

hey, i just bought a laptop like 3 days ago, and my laptop freezed so i unplugged it. now when i start it, it doesn't let me go in window. it just show a message that said the my hard drive is predicted to fail, that i need to save my file, and that i need to replace the hardrive.

i tried to reinstall the recovery system but it shows the same message over and over. Does anybody know if my hard drive is really dead and if i really need to change it bcause it will really sucks since i just bought it? If so, by installing a new hardrive, will my recovery cd will work? are all the hard drive for notebook the same (i mean will any notebook hard drive will fit mine), is it hard to install and how much will it cost me? i bought my laptop at best buy but i didn't buy any protection plan, do u think that they will fix it for me for free since its a new one?

my notebook is a hp amd turion x2 64.

  2. I would race back to Best Buy and tell them to give you another laptop. Even though you did not buy a service contract, HP has their own warranty. There should be no problem getting a new HP or a replacement hard drive. I would insist on another computer, this one sounds like a lemon.
