1. Pretend the inequalities are equal signs. What you do to one side you must do to the other. If you divide the inequality by a negative number, the inequality signs flip.

    4<2(1-3x)<10 divide by 2

    2 < (1 - 3x) < 10 subtract 1

    1<-3x< 9 divide by -3

    (-1/3)> x >-3

    So x is a negative number between - 1/3 and -3.

    -2x + 3y > 6 divide by 3

    (-2/3)x + y > 2

    Clear? Good luck!
