Last week I got an eight week old puppy. Now this weekend due to very unforeseen circumstances I have to go away for two days, there's no way of getting out of it and I had no idea it was going to come up when i got the puppy.Any of my friends that would be suitable to mind her already have dogs and because she is so young she hasn't had all her vaccinations.I was thinking of putting her in a kennel but do any kennels have special places for dogs that aren't fully vaccinated? She only has one injection left to get but there not meant to get it till their 12 weeks so I'm guessing she cant get it before?!Im really stuck!

  1. I'm sure if you tell the kennel your situation they will understand. Whatever you do, do NoT leave her alone. What about where you got her from?? They can't just hold her for 2 days?? Why can't your friends keep her in a separate room from the other dogs. It's only 2 days!!! They should help.

  2. I'm sure there will be kennels that will take your new puppy.  Just explain to them your concerns about the vaccinations.

Some Vet office do animal kenneling too, that may be where you want to start calling.

    Good luck.

  3. whatever you do DON"T put her in a kennel. When we would go camping, around the time when my dogs were 3 yrs to 10 yrs, we put our beagles in a kennel. And everytime we'd come back and get them they were scared to death and jittery and just everything they shouldnt be. There are some dogs that are put in kennels that are mean and that upsets all the animals there. if anything have your friend watch the dog, but ask them to keep them away from your puppy because im guessing(just like my 3 month old puppy) she isnt fixed yet, and she will be very afraid of any other dog or want to play with them and get crushed or stepped on by them, I know because my aunt who lives in a condo has this huge, stupid golden retriever that she brings over every time she comes over, it scares our older dog to death and it scares our little puppy. Also puppy sometimes like to eat other animals p**p, which could have round worms and all sorts of stuff in it, they would get those diseases.

  4. Just a suggestion, but maybe one of your friends could drop by your house and feed and let out and play with the puppy for awhile, so that way your puppy will not have to be around the other dogs as it would be at your own home which the puppy is comfortable in. Also, maybe try calling a dog sitter or possible a reliable, trustworthy and mature teenager that would take care of your puppy while you are away.

    Hope I helped :)
