Ok I was wondering if my TV would play surround sound

Its a MATSUI MAT26LW50

(If it does play surround sound could somebody tell me where it plugs, or give me a link to a website selling 1)

       I did not look at the link but most TVs do not generate surround sound. Are you using a cable box or satellite tuner? I'm in the US as well and I'm not sure about across the big pond but in the states it's rare to connect your incoming signal direct to your set. There is usually a CATV box or Dish tuner If so, send the audio to an external amplifier (AVR) that provides surround sound.

    it doesn't look that way.  

    I'm in the US, so I can't speak with absolute certainty about the standards in use - but this model doesn't have a digital tuner in it, which you would need for true discreet multi-channel sound.

    It will have stereo sound, but there's very little information available about it's connections.  You could connect the headphone jack to your hifi system for stereo, and potentially dolby surround, (this is not the same as discreet Dolby Digital).

    It doesn't look like this set will be independently compatible with the digital switchover that's coming - and my understanding is that it's already occurring in some parts of Great Britain.  If you already own it, this may be time for a new set...
