Need help with narrative essay?

Question

i am writing a narrative essay that is about an important event in my life that made an impact on me. and what i learned about myself from it.

i chose to write about the recent death of my dad.

here is the layout i kinda what to do

1st paragraph: what happened/my reacting

2nd:stories

3rd:things he taught me

4th:?

5th: what i learned about my self

any suggestion of what my 4th para should be?

and do you think i should change anything?

4th paragraph should be about Life without your Dad.

4th could be what you learned about death, or how it affected your faith in God.

I think you have an excellent start.  This will be a hard paper to write but it will be good for you and I am sure you will get an A.  Good luck.

Generally essay's follow a standard outline:

1st: introduction: this will tell your reader what your paper is about and will give a mini outline of your paper. 1st sentence will introduce topic, 2nd will say something about 1st body paragraph, 2nd sentence will relate to 2nd body paragraph, 3rd sentence will relate to 3rd body paragraph and then a bridge to 1st body paragraph.

2nd paragraph, this is your first body paragraph could be seen as the history of what happened to your dad, stories he told you, things in the past

3rd paragraph, this is 2nd body paragraph could be present how your father died, how it is affecting you, things in the present

4th paragraph this is 3rd body paragraph could be the future, what you've learned, how you will remember him

5th paragraph conclusion, a review of important topics covered and a closing to the paper.

this is pretty much the same format for any paper you will ever write, only the tone and formality will change. also, you can write more than one sentence or paragraph on a specific item, this was just a brief overview.
