Together, these statements show the feelings of the speaker towards the Inspector. The narrator regards him as an old man, uncaring and unemotional, but dedicated to his work. It seems that he praises the Head of the Custom House’s skills at doing his job so proficiently, and is content with the fact that his heartlessness does not bother him.
I just need the last sentence, if you WANT to do it for me, go ahead, but that's not what i'm asking for, just what you think I should say, or any tips you have.
The paper is an analysis of the narrator's feeling towards the father of the custom house in The Custom House, the introductory to the scarlet letter.
