Need help with person spec for job??

Question

People i need help i am going for a job that i have so much experience in but i am having problems writing a good person spec. the questions i am having problems in wording are as follow:

1. An understanding of HIV and an awareness of current issues related to it.

2. An understanding of the needs of people with HIV.

I have been working with people with HIV and mental health for many years but always have been c**p at person spec's they are the only 2 questions i am having problems wording and coming up with an answer that answers the questions i hope this make sense. Is it possible that someone could please please help me cheers

How about something like this:

1. Throughout my career I have shown an understanding or HIV and the many and changing issues related to it.

In the past I have shown this by (tell them some of your experiences which show that you have an awareness or issues reltated to HIV and an understanding of it)

2. In the past I have shown a good understanding of the needs of people with HIV including (tell them some needs of people with HIV you understand and what needs the people you have worked with in the past)

I hope these are good starters.

If you need some further help you may be able to go on to a job website and they may have some advice on writing selection criteria. You could also get some help from a job search company or a friend.
