I work in a medical office, about 2 weeks ago we had a power outtage here after the electricity came back we noticed that the doctor" number on our speed dial in our phone system was receiving calls. Everytime we called with the speed dial and manually we received the message "your call can not be completed as dialed". So we started using our cell phones to page the doctors, our buyer (with the phones) came and updated software but nothing seemed to help. I called Verizon to let them know about problem, they said they were going to send a tech over, the day the tech called to confirm, the phone started working again, but 4 days later its back to the same old thing. Now Verizon is giving me problems telling me its not the phone system and its not there lines that are not working, that we need to remove the "Toll restriction" on our lines. This has nothing to do with the toll restriction as the restriction here has been in effect for about 4 years and this problem jsut started 2 weeks

  1. Call Verizon back. Tell them they need to setup a trouble ticket with the phone company that manages the doctor's phone.

there is a translation issue between the two phone numbers that needs to be corrected. Toll restriction is not something that would block out one phone number, that is a ridulous way to get you off the phone.

Ask for a supervisor if you have to, Im 100% sure this is what the problem is.

  2. What type of phone system do you have? Norstar, Avaya, NEC, Telrad?

How many lines do you have/how many doctors?

Does it have this problem at the main receptionist console?
