Need help with planning a summer outdoor party for a 15 year old?

Question

You see this is for my sis in law she doesnt want to have a quincenera (Latino version of a sweet sixteen) Shes very simple and humble and doesnt want her parents to spend their hard earned money. So I want to plan a simple all white surprise party with white x mas lights on the trees, DJ, and serve appetizers. But how can I send out invitations without her finding out? Anymore ideas in making this unforgettable? Any polite ideas are welcome, thanks in advance

or like send them to their addressinstead of handin them out.

it sucks because all suprise parties ive attended the people already know. so i guess you have to trust the people who are going not to spill the beans.

Just make sure that she is surrounded by the people that love her, serve her favorite food, maybe create a drink (maybe a fruit punch) and name it after her :)  

As far as the invitations go, maybe it's better to put on the invites that it is a suprise birthday party :)  It'll be great, don't worry.

Find out from her parents who some of her close friends are and let them help you make the guest list.  Definitely be sure to note on the invites that it's a surprise.  But keeping in mind the age of the guests, don't be too bummed if someone lets it slip ahead of time.

Do people usually bring gifts to a quincenera?  If she is humble and would be embarassed by gifts, be sure to state on the invites that they aren't necessary.  It sounds like a lovely idea.  Have fun!
